The “Porto de Tradição” is a symbol of recognition by the City Council
(Câmara Municipal do Porto) for our role as a relevant entity in the cultural sphere,
of valuing the city’s historical heritage and traditional experiences.

100 YEARS OF HISTORY

In 1920 at Casa do Paço in Eiriz, a parish in Paços de Ferreira, the first company
to distribute pasteurised milk in glass bottles in the north of the country was born
— Leitaria da Quinta do Paço. Today, 100 years later, the ex-libris brand of the north,
which year after year has gained fame and awards in the area, always imposing itself for
the quality of its daily production, continuing as prosperous and fresh as on the first day.
Its stores continue to be an icon in flavour and tradition, especially the store in Baixa,
which in 2020 received the distinction “Porto de Tradição”, a title awarded to a few by the
City Council. In its windows shoes the freshest and most coveted delicacies in the country,
among them the classic éclair — known as “Doce do Porto” — and the responsible for
satisfying a whole generation of foodies.
